Coaching and Mentoring

Mentoring and Coaching are two different tools that support leadership and management development. One focuses on acquiring knowledge and skills from someone who has more experience than you, and the other gives you the tools and insight to enable you to grow and develop yourself. In summary, we believe a mentor is someone you learn from, and a coach is someone you learn with.

Using a blend of mentoring and coaching, we work with the majority of our clients on an on-going basis. However, the way we work is determined by our client and what he or she needs. Some clients need a sounding board for important decisions, some clients need support in finding solutions and some want to enhance key leadership skills such as communication, resilience and even confidence. Our clients can expect complete confidentiality regarding the content of what we discuss; to have current thinking and perceptions challenged in a respectful manner which will assist in developing greater insights into their own leadership; to be given challenging and useful homework, reading and exercises to encourage positive change and to be supported and partnered with throughout the whole process.

Consulting

We support our clients by helping them create training and development strategies, resolve conflict in their organisations, improve communication, teamwork, and/or performance.

This support can extend from advice and guidance, through to project management and support in the implementation of new plans. In the past, we have provided support and guidance in developing key-note speeches for specific events and audiences, designed and run company conferences, supported clients in the preparation and writing of award applications, helped fill key leadership roles and developed performance improvement plans for underperformers. Our clients draw on the breadth and depth of our experience to help them see another perspective or to bring in skills and experience that need to be supplemented in their own organisation.
